wings of umbrellas folding
in the gusts
the beautiful evocation of
ruin and suprise

beneath the concrete atmosphere
the creek sighs
in turbulent mumbling
crashed glitter glass
and crushed tins
of soda and beverage
the lights singed with
disbelief at its edges
like a polaroid in hot
sunlight

favor the wounds
curled in sleep
the dirty banisters
and brick doorstops
come the heat of
spring
