The blank page of life

Poem Body

Life is like
a blank page
roughly wrinkled
in withering white.
Begrudgingly
bearing it’s
abandoned
brand of
belittlement .
Which only can
be broken
by the olden
unspoken truths
lying in between
the written words
of humanity’s
harrowing hand .

I like what you have done with this contest. I like these lines:

a blank page
roughly wrinkled
in withering white.

I agree with you: (it is what you do with it that counts)

Everyone has a different viewpoint on life because everyone’s lives are different .
Benjamin button teaches us about how meaningless life is . You begin with nothing and you end with nothing but what truly matters is that you don’t just waste your life away you have to
Write your own meaning to life .

thanks for the share, nice and concise, some good alliteration in this poem
You have captured an eloquent reflection of what life means to you, look forward to more

I try to make sure every single one of my poems has point or purpose of being there . Which in turn makes them more effective.

Alliterated lines:

Life is like,
Wrinkled in withering white,
Begrudgingly bearing
Brand of belittlement,
Be broken by,
Humanity's harrowing hand.

Poets make use of different poetic devices to make their works melodious. Alliteration can help to set the pace of a piece, speeding it up or slowing it.

How beautiful is your wonderful pen line.

Nice work!
This is a great idea of what life is in these diverse societies.

I wrote this just coming home from the hospital after getting brain surgery
And quietly listen to music and thinking
To myself and inevitably I’ll die you start with nothing and end with nothing
But the middle of that is worth everything you just have to make it yours .
and hopefully it will contribute to something .
Our life is the canvas we are the painters who paint our lives making meaningful or meaningless.
