FALLING.

Poem Body

How It happens
No one knows
All those years
Love just goes
To somewhere else
I suppose.

Lawyers step outside
While they decide
In the best interest
Of your child
They don't even know
The colour of her eyes.

And all you're worth
Here on Earth
Papers and some words
Saying all you own
Is one day alone
Hours you can keep.

Stars smiling down
Will forever stay
There safe and sound
So save your prayers
For me anyway
And I'll capture tears
Long before they start
And hold them forever
Here inside my heart
And I am falling
Forever, I suppose
The further I fall
I'll fall forever
I suppose
There's no telling
Who will save me
Save me from myself
Only Heaven knows
I guess
Only God, himself.

A child's only wish
Just for Christmas
A shooting star
To fall from space
For daddy to live
Again at our place.

And you can't help
From falling down
Cause you can't hold
Onto only dreams
Time doesn't grow old
As it's suppose to be.

And daddy still
Sounds the same
Coming from a child
And I still turn around
Every single time
Thinking that it's mine.

in S1 L2 (knows) is the only mistake that I noticed. this is a poem full of sorrow. divorce is hard on all involved.having experienced it from both sides(as a mother and a daughter) I think it is hardest on the children. yet the child still has the gift of hope.
I really like these lines:

A child's only wish
Just for Christmas
A shooting star
To fall from space
For daddy to live
Again at our place.

Cat has an eye for the good lines, but I also have a favorite part.

"And I'll capture tears
long before they start
and hold them forever
here inside my heart.

Good work, sorry that it's a sad one. ~ Geezer.
