Poem Body
A gentleman is just a wimp,
and character is boring;
while sensitivity is limp,
as is the poet’s poring.
Give me a man who loves himself,
and his designer outfits;
who will dissipate my wealth,
on ineffectual gadgets.
A man determined to be free,
who treats me like a whore;
clearly does not care for me,
and I’ll come back for more.

A rich
and interesting theme for writing.
I will be waiting for more.
I'm afraid it was my experience
as a teenager and through the first half of my twenties. I was always a gentleman and too much of one to pretend otherwise, even to get my leg over. At twenty five I met the woman who became my wife but even she was somewhat older so had probably grown out of that stage.
feels like a song lyric
Sung by some femme fatale.
Guys might sing "That's why the lady, that's why the lady is a tramp"
As to why I think its a good lyric check out the Lyric Vs Poetry forum. .
Interesting thought
as is the quote from E E Cummings which is rather like saying I would rather have food when I'm hungry than run uphill with a ball and chain.
