Poem Body
A prince of Persia, said out loud…
Pompous and proud
“You bow to me…
So all can see.”
A faithful man would not concede
“I’d rather bleed…
And feel your hate
When you berate.”
To Jehovah God I will call
To Him I fall
And bend my knee
In loyalty.”
A minuet poem syllables of 8,4,4,4
Based on the Bible book of Esther

Hi Mand !
To blog, go to tools, then scroll down to submit content. This will then list 3 types content one of which is blog. Now, a minuet poem.......another form in the long list of types I'd not heard of lol. Now to clarify must the lines rhyme and if so need it be a particular pattern? See, expose me to something new and it only leads to questions. I like the form and poem..............stan
Hellow Stan - Soo good to hear from you. ( long time no see )
Thank you for the info on the blog - very helpful.
Now to answer your question.
The Minute Poem is rhyming verse form consisting of 12 lines of 60 syllables written in strict iambic meter. The poem is formatted into 3 stanzas of 8,4,4,4; 8,4,4,4; 8,4,4,4 syllables. The rhyme scheme is as follows: aabb, ccdd, eeff
(12 lines, 60 syllables) or two minutes (24 lines, 120 syllables) or three minutes (36 lines, 180 syllables)
Counting time a minute is 60 seconds or in poetry, a minute is 60 syllables.
Hope that's of help - now give it a go! Lol

Hi Seren
Soo good to see you! It's the first time I've attempted a minuet poem - but I enjoyed the challenge. I look forward to reading your minuet poem - and I hope others try it as well.
Esther is well worth reading - full of action, courage and Intrigue, the Jews, at this time of year, still celebrate the festival of Purim. ( Haman attempted to annialate all the Jews, but the tables turned on Haman and his mercinaries and the Jews escaped destruction )
In modern times the Jews eat cookies, filled with apricot, chocolate, etc. in rememberance ot that day. I quite fancy one myself, they sound delicious.
Thanks for reading and commenting Seren.

Hi Mand
Interesting poem, also the subject matter is something I'm very interested in. Thanx for sharing
John
Hi John
There is so much to be learned from the Bible - Solomon said "There is nothing new under the sun". Past or present human nature is much the same so we can learn from past experiences.
Thanks my friend
