Of The Night

Poem Body

Where is the
Great Gray Owl
hiding
from north winds
and winter
snows?

In his home
above Earth
abiding -
only the
wise, full moon
knows.

Where are the
stellar lights
shining
when self-willed
clouds do not
appease?

In his home
above Earth
pining -
only the
wise, full moon
sees.

Who are the
lonely souls
crying
when night falls
over lands
below?

In his home
above Earth
sighing -
only the
wise, full moon
may know.

What of the
owls, the stars,
and kin
when needing
radiance
within?

Above Earth
in his home
divine,
the wise, full
moon will bow,
then shine.

This is beautiful. I love the rhythm of it and the rhyming scheme. A majestic piece of work.

Nighttime has a sense of mystery to it observed by our friend, the moon. I appreciate your kind and generous comment!

I especially liked this verse:

In his home
above Earth
abiding -
only the
wise, full moon
knows.

the whole poem is wonder-filled!

And beautiful. The full moon means so many different things to each individual. The imagery brings a certain element of serenity to the reader. Well done.

Lavender

I'm so glad it gave a sense of serenity. So many things are available to us to simply wonder about, and adore.
Thank you for reading!

I just like to read your replies. Poetry in and of themselves.

Congratulations on your win! I can see why you love the full moon. The full Blood Moon is my choice...it portends an interesting story.

Lots of mystery out there, as you well know! The moon is forever there, through one dark night after another. Can't get more devotion than that.
Thank you!
