Poem Body

i pay homage to the authors of old
their abstrusity underscore my perspective
on the pragmatic approach of rife rhymers
bent on breaching the discipline instilled so aptly
into the mindset and nous of the craftsman of then

is there a lyric bold enough
to mimic the deep lines and notes
inscribed into the memories of those
captivated by the seduction of song?

or a painting to mirror the insight
into the mentation of wizardry
displayed in the minds of those artists
who defied the odds of time?

my aim is merely to underline the obsessive
purity of thought which branded the
sincerity of the dogmatic exercise
of an era marked by honest workmanship

Geezer

you say? How does the artist who relieves himself in a picture, portray reality without a patronizing attitude?
If he wishes to be paid for his work, he must by any means, do so very carefully! It is not with brushes and paint that he must
tell the story, but through the eyes of the beholder, plant that scene in his patron's mind. Gobble-dewok aside, there is enough here to show the light at the end of the tuinnel.~ Geezer.

I like it a lot. I’d let it ride unless there’s more you want to say. Thanks for sharing this, it’s great subject matter. I love the title but is it fitting the poem?

Nice work,
Tim
