Poem Body
"RATS AND CATS"
Margaret Ann Waddicor 1st November 2010.
Rats and cats and cricket bats
thunder under beds
threads of curtains fraying
praying monks and ancient trunks
kangeroos and elephants
straws and reeds and chanted creeds
shouts and pouts and awesome deeds
sounds of rumbles children tumble
tummies up and bottoms down
rolling round and round the town
acting like a silly clown
lifes a joke a bicycle spoke
spinning with the earth
sometimes full of mirth
other times a dread
so let that be said.
Feeling slightly(!)absurd this morning
it just was like that a bit of child-like rubbish
to cough up in the morning. Nordic cloud.

Well done Ann

'Rats and bats and cricket bats'

"Right you are"
As my father used to say, I don't here that phrase so much any more, do you in Australia?
I agree although I spoil Xena's nice comment with the bats, thank you Xena.
Yes its fun to 'onomat' oneself sometimes and forget the subject matter playing with the sounds of words and finding fun juxtapositions of idea tumbling from the mind letting it dance invisibly in spirit!
Takk judyanne, and my love annanya.
Very light, soft and fluffy
Very light, soft and fluffy stuff for me right now when I am really tired. I enjoyed this poem, Ann.

and the lilt give one a feeling of dancing words.
