Shadows in the mind,
their gaunt spectred shapes
fit into places in the brain,
stored, as in a loft of chests and boxes,
there to rest,
until they're wanted once again,
to throw their patterns
into present conscious thoughts;
they lie there latent figures in the wings,
with many things,
the goods and chattels of a life, ignored,
until their likenesses appear
to ask them up to dance,
the dance of knowledge
learnt and understood,
or merely wake to shake in unison
with new external things,
that parallel like geometry,
find their own expression of symmetry,
or make an art creatively,
an improvised uncertainty,
until when sung in harmony, it all falls into place.

I know I need to go into that memory's space and sort out the before days, maybe I shall ask one of the children to seek out the chattels of those times.
This theme is good and it can also apply to not being yourself to the world, where you have stored "you" in the mind to be raised as Lasurus
from a death to become whole again..
Lovely write and makes for a lot of thought, Yours Ian.T
Thank you Ian for
Thank you Ian for appreciating the meanings
that come into your mind, that's what poetry is about isn't it.
Love Ann.

I noticed that in your Profile that your Father was born in 1898, well he was a youngster mine was born in 1897 Dec 3rd the youngest of 7 brothers, he ran away three times to join his brothers in WW1 and at the third time they took him in saying they were fed up of sending him home. He served in Egypt most of the war, one of the lucky ones if you can get lucky in war..
Can you imagine what Private Ryan story would have been like, had a bad fate befallen those seven Brothers..
We lost just one in Jerusalem, where he rests to this day, they didn't fly them home in those days..
It is cold here today but it is beautiful with no clouds yet and a blazing sun.
I hope that your day and holiday goes well, take care you are in our thoughts, Yours Ian.T
A well described life challenge
The loft and our memoiries and memoirs!
