where have they gone

Poem Body

a melody captures
recognition
a reflection
a moment
left in a dark glass

days have drifted
dust envelops and veils
the diary of my mind

conceals whole chapters
characters
events

memories muddied
fragments of tableaus
as broken colours
from fractured crystal

but somehow, I remember
those nights being a little brighter
days more blithe
and friendships more blest

where have they gone
those I have known

and forgotten

I wonder
do they remember
me?
.

About the Author

Region, Country: Western Australia, AUS

Favorite Poets: Favourite poets? So many, so varied. I like particular songs, not necessarily the singer... and the same goes for poetry. I can honestly say though, that Alfred Noyes' The Highwayman was what inspired my love of poetry - my mother began reading it to me when I was still a baby, and it became my favourite bedtime story

Very touching soliloquy where each word seems to be soaked in crystalline sentiments.

the question is
not where all of them have gone
the Qs should be posed to you
where have you gone ?

ur poetry is like dripping honey.....
right from the bees comb??? ((is it correct?)
and
who but you alone know how to such nectar comb /(for rhyming)
siphon for correctness
choose which ever pleases
your ears

This hit me hard with its truth, Beautifully expressed! Indeed, ""where have they gone ,those remembered and forgotten""
